Dear Friends,

The past several weeks have taken a quite surprising turn, with most of the country virtually shut down, isolated, in quarantine or otherwise disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus has affected many we know, including some family members, and we continue to pray for those who are sick, as well as all those who are on the front lines of this battle. It is in times like this that we need to remember more than ever that God is with us and He will not forsake us. He is our HOPE!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“–Jeremiah 29:11

I had hoped to share some better news but, the fact is, not all news is good, even here at The Hope of Survivors. March is the month when we usually receive a substantial grant fund that helps us cover expenses for many different projects and resource development. This grant makes up a very hefty portion of our annual budget and we have relied upon this grant for nearly a decade and a half. This year, however, we were informed that we would no longer be eligible to apply for the grant due to a change in the grant foundation’s guidelines. This will have a significant financial impact on The Hope of Survivors and what we are able to accomplish on behalf of victims going forward.

I know times are uncertain right now and the economy is suffering while many people are being laid off and losing incomes. If, however, you are blessed to still have an income and could partner with us on a monthly basis or even make a one-time donation, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your thoughtful consideration and prayers.

God bless you,
Samantha Nelson
